Hamamatsu Children’s Plaza (Hamamatsu Kodomokan) was opened in December 22 2001. It aims to assist the development of children’s imagination and creativity by providing occasions of diverse interchanges and activities to be involved with wide range of social and cultural experiences. While its main focus is on social development of children by inspiring their curiosity, the plaza serves nurturing supports as well. Parents have assists from experts and opportunities to communicate with other parents here.

Contents
The institute provides main four services: playground exercises, hands-on activities, exercise with displays, and nurturing support. Children can play with many fun playsets with a tunnel, a spider-web shape house filled with balls, and more equipped in its playground. The plaza gives children opportunities to made things and grow their imagination and self-expression abilities though participating on hands-on activities such as making crafts and sweets. Its exercises with displays including role playing games help children to develop flexible minds. Various kinds of supports on nurturing such as consolation, interchanges, and day nursery are available for parents

Remarks
Many sorts of classes for kids are held everyday. Parents also can participate in some. For example, there are classes of drawings, eurhythmics, and shogi (shogi is a Japanese chess-like game).
