Overview
Inariyama Kofun and Inariyama Kofun are ancient megalithic tombs on the fluvial terrace in Mikatahara.They stand 100m apart from each other.
 
The Inariyama Kofun is 36.6m in diameter and 4.2m in height. It is the third largest circular type kofun after the Senninzuka Kofun (49m in diameter) and the Irino Kofun (44m in diameter). Its two-story mound is covered with fukiishi, paving stones. The kofun is supposed to be built in the early 5th century, considering the facts that it is a large round kofun, hajiki, reddish earthenwares, were found, and it has fukiishi.
