Morinishi Site

Address Tenryugawa-cho, Higashi-ku,
Hamamatsu-shi
Time Yayoi - Nara periods
Overview
The site was located in northwest of the Tenryugawa Station. It is presumed to be a ruin of a provincial office used during the Nara (710 - 794) and Heian (794 - 1185) periods. It seems that many settlements gathered around here. There are the Yamanokami Site and Matsuhigashi site in within 1km of this site. It is believed that there were other administrative facilities nearby.

Some imitations of dotaku, bronze bells used in rites in ancient Japan, made of earth were found. Various artifacts including ink stones and roof tiles used in the office were also found.
