Daifuku Rice Cake Incident

Address 30-1 Hirosawa 1-chome, Naka-ku, Hamamatsu-shi
Overview
Daifuku rice cakes served after the athletic meet held in the Hamamatsu Diichi Chugakko (present Kita High School) caused food-poisoning on May 10, 1936. The total of 44 people, including 29 students, died from this incident. A monument honoring the victims stands at the school.
