Overview
The greatest fire disaster in Hamamatsu-juku since its formation occurred on April 27, 1874. The fire broken out from Tenma-cho at 7:30 am rapidly spread out through the town, burning most of the houses along the Tokaido road until it was extinguished at 4:00 pm.
