Overview
Furuhashi Hironoshin was an Olympic swimmer who set numerous world records in freestyle swimming. He was known as "flying fish of Fujiyama." Japanese people were given hopes by his compliments. There is ToBiO (Furuhashi Hironoshin Memorial Hamamatsu Swimming Pool) in Nishi-ku. He was named honorary citizen of Yuto Town (present Yuto-cho, Nishi-ku, Hamamatsu) on Februrary 11, 1994.
