Overview
Uchiyama Shin'ichi was the president of Shizuoka-ken Ringyo Kaigisho (chamber of forestry), Tenryu Kohseikai (a welfare association in Tenryu-ku), and Shizuoka Daiichi Television. For a long period of time, he devoted himself for the development of forestry, mountain villages, and welfare services for disabled persons. He was named honorary citizen of Tenryu City (present Tenryu-ku, Hamamatsu) on November 11, 1988.
