Establishment
In April 1990, Maisaka Regional Museum (Maisaka Kyōdo Shiryōkan) was established to preserve Maisaka’s important heritages for future generations and to tell the transitions of customs, manners, and culture in its history.

Contents
Maisaka flourished as a posting station of the Tōkaidō Road and has a long history as a port town at Lake Hamana and the Enshūnada Sea. Its representative products are nori (seaweed), shirasu (whitebait), and skipjack tunas. The museum introduces Maisaka’s history from its dawn and exhibits unearthed articles, a model of a ship for fishing skipjack tunas, and various documents regarding fishing. It is attached to Maisaka Library.
