Overview
Manyo-no-Mori Park is a park with a forest and facilities that convey the culture of Manyo-shu, a poem anthology published in 750. The forest has 300 species of plants appear in the anthology. The facilities in the park include a resource center which provides information regarding pomes in Manyo-shu that relate to the Hamakita area, a restaurant called Manyo-tei that serves dishes of the period, and a shop called Kibe-no-chaya where visitors can buy souvenirs. The Hamakita Manyo Festival is held annually in October.
