Kokubun Chūnosuke was the founder of Kokubun Ltd and developed braiding machinery (Seichūki).
He was born in 1897 in Mogami District in Yamagata Prefecture.
He decided to work in a braiding machines manufacturing company, as he came to know about the machinery when he was working in Tokyo as an engineer to learn more skills.
The first machine he sold to Hamamatsu got him good reputations. He established Kokubun Tekkōjō (Kokubun Ltd) in 1922 at Terajima-cho. He exported Kokubun braider machines to India in 1936.
